Glasgow born and New York based photographer, film maker and director, David Eustace is known for his strong accent, powerful images and passion. Always on the move we managed to track him down to take a look at the Hungry Eye Quiz and come up with a serious of typically concise answers. Over to you David…
How would you describe yourself as?
A lucky bastard (which technically I am)
What are you currently working on?
I’ve just finished filming a new  Lumix Panasonic TV advertisement out in Yosemite Park and creating a portfolio of images titled ‘Highland Heart’ for the fashion brand Anthropoligie. Both of which need some final finishing touches. I’m also working on a new and long overdue personal website. I always have a thousand ideas running around in my head which need to be finalised such as a possible portrait of the architect Oscar Niemeyer in Rio de Janiero and a personal trip to either India or Nepal to make a new body of work.
What are you looking at for inspiration?
Life and all the magic it throws up. Especially when you don’t expect it. Seriously it can be anything that just touches and creates a moment.
Which words describe your work most accurately?
Hopeful, honest, hardworking and humbling.
How do you want people to feel when they see your work?
If they feel when they see my work then I am delighted. If they are inspired then I will get as much from them as they have from me.
What’s the best piece of advice that you have been given?
When you can’t be bothered then that is the time to get off your arse and do it. Also, from the day you’re born the only thing you are entitled to is the doctor spanking you on the arse…from then on you have to work for everything.
I’m hoping to continue to breathe and appreciate life more and more each day and hopefully through my work inspire, encouragea nd allow others to dream as I do. I also hope to start on a new film project that has been on my mind for some years now titled ‘One Mile of Nothing’. I’m also looking for a publisher for a book project titled ‘Love Letters’.
